Midwest POAC Super Sire Futurity Rules

 

 

Definition:

A futurity is a means by which an individual stakes his judgement and ability as a breeder on the future, the proof of which will be shown in competition against breeders on a compatible basis as to age and sex.

General Rules:

1. The futurity shall be named the Midwest Super Sire Futurity and is sanctioned by the Midwest POAC. Hereafter, any references to the Club shall mean Midwest POAC and Futurity shall mean Midwest POAC Super Sire Futurity.

2. The Futurity Chair shall be appointed by the Club President on a yearly basis. Said Chair shall not be an officer of the Club.

3. The Futurity Committee shall consist of the Chair and the Club’s Officers.

4. The Futurity Committee is responsible for the implementation of the Futurity.

5. The Futurity Comm. shall handle any disputes, protests, or controversies involving the Futurity. Their ruling shall be binding and final. No protests will be allowed after the conclusion of the Futurity show.

6. The Futurity Comm. shall approve all refunds. No refunds will be made for ponies denied entry into the show.

7. The Futurity Comm. shall handle any unforeseen circumstances to the best of their ability.

8. POAC, Inc. rules shall apply.

9. Protests shall be put in writing and signed by the protestor, accompanied by the appropriate fee, and delivered to the Futurity or Show Chair. The Chair shall present the protest to the Futurity Comm. for their ruling as soon as possible, and in no event later than immediately after the show.

10. This Futurity is open to the World. Owners and exhibitors must be members to participate in the Futurity.

11. All Futurity payments are to be made payable to the Midwest POAC and mailed to the Futurity Chair. After the recording of payments made, the Chair shall turn over all monies to the Club Treasurer for deposit, and shall do so in a timely manner. The Treasurer is responsible for disbursement of Futurity monies no later than 7 days after the Futurity show as approved by the Futurity Chair.

12. This Futurity shall be judged by a minimum of 3 judges. The tiebreaking judge shall be chosen prior to the start of the class.

13. Pony may be nominated to multiple classes for their age, but may not, for instance, show in 2 Yr. Old Longe Line and a 2 Yr. Old Pleasure class in the same year. 2 year olds must chose either In-hand Trail or ridden Trail. The owners/exhibitors intentions must be made clear to the Futurity Chair by the time the Sustaining Fee is due.

14. An accounting of all Futurity monies will be published by the Futurity Chair for the membership within 30 days of the event.

15. This Futurity will be held in conjunction with approved and pointed POA shows put on by the Midwest POAC. The place and date to be determined by the Futurity Comm.

16. Refunds will not be given. Any fees paid to a particular class stays with that class regardless if no other payments are made. Fees may not be applied to another class after they have been designated to a particular class.

17. Specialty Awards may be given ONLY if they are fully sponsored.
