Midwest Reginal Club Meeting Minutes

June 26, 2009, Winona, MN

The meeting was called to order by President Jared Katzenberger at 8:35 p.m.

Treasurer’s Report : Cory Damman presented a Treasurer’s report through June 24. Jackie Guthrie moved to accept the Treasurer’s report. Dean Damman seconded. Motions carries.

Secretary minutes from the February 14, 2009, meeting were read. Anne Dykstra made a motion to accept the minutes. Dean Damman seconded. Motion carries.

Committee Reports:

Futurity: Have received 65 mare nominations. In the other classes, there are 4-15/class nominated. Late nominations are triple the nominating fee. We need a clarification on membership for stallion nominations. Dean Damman made a motion that a membership paid at nomination 12/1 carries through the following year. Anne Dykstra seconded. Motion carries.

October 3-4 Show: Judges have been hired: Brad Butler, Carmen Hoffman, and Roger Howe. The show bill, entry form and stall reservation form have all been completed and sent to POAC along with show approvals. Awards for the show will be certificates in the amounts of $1.50, $1.25, $1.00, $.75, $.50 and $.25. These certificates will be able to be turned in at checkout to be taken off the exhibitor’s bill. Dawn Walther will announce after 2 year old gelding halter; we still need a volunteer to announce the beginning of the show. Anne Dykstra volunteered to recruit trail judges and ring stewards at a pay of $75/each for 10-hour day and $10/hour after 10 hours. Measuring will be separate from the National futurity and sale.

Old Business: None

New Business: Lisa Langhorst of Nebraska stated their club was willing to put on the 2010 Regional in combination with the Midwest Regional Club. The Midwest Regional will be held at the Lancaster Event Center, Lincoln, NE on June 16-20, 2010. Anne Dykstra made a motion to accept the proposal from Lisa of a split of profits at 60% for Nebraska and 40% for the Midwest Regional Club. Dean Damman seconded the motion. Motion carries. We will need many Midwest Regional Club members to volunteer to help at this show.

Next meeting of the Midwest Regional Club will be on Saturday, October 3, 2009, at the Futurity show in DesMoines, IA.

Jackie Guthrie made a motion to adjourn at 9:15 p.m. Dawn Walther seconded. Motion carries.
